The Malone Central School District is located in northern Franklin County. The community offers a friendly, small-town environment in a picturesque setting that is basically rural in nature. Malone is the county seat for Franklin County with affordable housing made available.

Located in the Village of Malone and including portions of nine surrounding towns, the Malone Central School District offers a variety of instructional and co-curricular programs. The district provides educational programs to approximately 2,500 students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve.

Our Schools

The district has three elementary schools, Davis, Flanders and St. Joseph’s. An articulated curriculum stresses the development of basic skills as well as higher order thinking skills. The elementary curriculum includes an emphasis on the arts and includes opportunities to participate in elementary band and chorus.

The Malone Middle School, with grades six through eight, offers a wide variety of subjects including accelerated regents level courses for selected eighth graders. Second language instruction begins at grade seven in either Spanish or French. In addition, students can participate in sports, band and chorus.

Franklin Academy is a comprehensive high school situated in the village of Malone. Advanced Placement courses are offered as well as college credit courses through North Country Community College, St. Lawrence University, SUNY Plattsburgh and Paul Smith's College. District graduates display excellence founded on a balance of academics, career preparation, the arts and athletics.

The Malone Central School District is a component member of the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton Board of Cooperate Educational Services (BOCES). The district receives a variety of specialized shared services from the BOCES including performing arts, distance learning, special education, Career Technical Education as well as our New Visions Program in Health Careers and Law/Government.

Our Surrounding Area

Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, right in Malone, offers day and night skiing, a tubing hill, affordable ski and stay packages, and much more!

The Malone Gold Club provides two 18-hole golf courses as well as The Grille Room.

The majestic Adirondack Mountains to the south delight the citizens of our community as well as many visitors from all over the world.

Our Canadian neighbors to the north, Ottawa and Montreal, are within one and one-half hours driving time away.
