Since its charter in 1957, the Franklin Academy NHS chapter has consistently demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence and community service. Students are invited to apply based on their grade point average (GPA), but must then complete an application, write an essay, and obtain three letters of recommendation. The faculty council then evaluates these materials to ensure the students embody the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Once inducted, members must maintain their GPA, complete at least 12 hours of community service annually, and assist with our two blood drives and teacher appreciation breakfast.
Our current chapter officers:
President: Henna Goachee
Vice President: Sophia West
Secretary: Miriam Brooks (who also sang the national anthem beautifully at the ceremony)
Treasurer: Morgan Branconnier
